 It is one of the largest schools in Pakistan and its area of 451 acres makes it both the largest in the country and in continental Asia. The foundation stone of the school was laid by Nawab Sadeq Mohammad Khan V the reigning nawab Bahawalpur State on 4 March 1953 and the school started functioning on 18 January 1954

Bahawalpur is famous for its carpets, embroidery and pottery. The Punjab government has given notice to such amazing hand work and has set up a Craft Development Centre from where handicrafts can be purchased. Visible from several miles in Cholistan desert, the majestic Derawar Fort is a sight not to miss. Derawar Fort is a large square fortress in Bahawalpur.

Lal Sohanra is spread over 153000 acre and is notable for the diversity of its landscape, which includes areas of desert, forest and water. Lal Suhanra National Park is a pleasant place to relax.

Over the centuries, the tomb has badly disintegrated due to environmental conditions. Today, only the remaining half of the structure is still standing.
